The winter season is fast approaching. This means many things for Iowans. We have to dig out our winter gear for our car, prepare that emergency bag in case we slide off the road and can’t be found for hours, find the other half of our favorite set of gloves, figure out the fastest routes to work (based on when the road is plowed), and time to think about different Sac and Sactional covers.

The first exciting bit of news you may not have seen if you haven’t been to our store lately is that Lovesac is introducing top-grain leather into our fabric selections. We are currently offering one color, the amazing Cigar-Brown.

What is top-grain leather you ask? There are several ‘levels’ of Leather. The best is Top-Grain, which is the part of the cow’s hide that hair grows out of. Next is split-level, which is nearly as high quality, almost as supple. Then we have bonded leather. When most furniture stores advertise leather, this is the leather they are using. It is leather, but as its name indicates, its been pressed together from left-over pieces, or bonded together. Next is Pleather, which is not actually leather, it is plastic that has been worked to feel like leather. Finally is PVC, which is what cheap furniture makers use in place of leather in the places that they think the consumer won’t notice or touch often, like the whole back of the couch.

Now at Lovesac, if you don’t already know, we don’t cut corners. In fact, we usually over-do it on quality, but that’s why our customers love us and recommend us to their friends. Our new leather will be top-grain anywhere you will see and touch on a regular basis. There will be minimal amounts of split-level leather used, but absolutely no pleather or PVC.

We will be offering a SuperSac Set of a SuperSac and Squattoman with Top-Grain Leather covers for both. The price will be $2500 for this set. If you already own a SuperSac and Squattoman, we will sell the set for $1900.

Cow Phur is an amazingly soft material that actually looks and feels more like rabbit fur; but don’t worry, no rabbits were harmed to make this beautiful fabric! The Cow Phur will be available in a CitySac Package, a SuperSac Package, Sactional Side and Base covers, throw blankets, king blanket, throw pillows, slippers, ‘I Want Your Body’ Pillow covers, and available to custom order for any other size Sac.

The Cow Phur CitySac Package will sell for $549, a savings of approximately $350, or if you have a CitySac and Squattoman already and just want the cover set it will be $299. This package will include:

The Lezur-Tan Tweed is the partner to our Bidness-Grey Tweed (say it out loud) that was released this summer. Lezur-Tan Tweed is a more solid tan than our Classic Camel Tweed. It is available on Sactionals as a pre-made item, or available to custom order.

To accessorize  your Sac or Sactional, we are also receiving a variety of 4 designer throw pillows and 5 seasonal throw pillows.

We will also have an Other Comfy Stuff exclusive fabric for the winter, our patterned Twill. This is, quite possibly, the most comfortable fabric we’ve ever felt for blanket material. Fortunately, Lovesac is offering a Love Throw blanket, ‘I Want Your Body’ Pillow Cover and slippers in this material.

• U-Drinks - These are bent wood or acrylic cup holders that fit over a Side Sactional piece. The wood tables come in Natural (light) or Chocolate (very dark). The acrylic tables come in clear or printed. Prices vary but start at $24.99.
• Sactional Blocks – These blocks are available in White or Chocolate. There are 10 Base and 10 Side pieces that help you model how you plan to set up your Sactional ($49.99). There is a manager special on these: If you buy a set of Sactional Blocks at MSRP within 90 days before your purchase of an actual Sactional & show your receipt, you will receive a $49.99 credit on the purchase of your Sactional.
• Couch Bowls – These are bowls that are made specifically to fit on the U-Drink. There are two varieties (each with four colors): The Buddha Bowl ($24.99), and the Ramen Noodle Bowl ($29.99).

Our Sactionals, being modular, can fit a few pieces in most 4-door vehicles. All of our Sacs will fit in the backseat of a 4-door vehicle, and most in a 2-door.

The Iowa State Fair was a great time and thank you to all of you who stopped out and checked out our booth! For those of you who didn’t get in to see the booth, we have a few more of most of the items on special left; if you ask really nicely, we might be able hook you up! Check out those deals here.

Just a quick reminder – because I know its still warm outside. If you’re thinking about a cover for the mid-winter holiday of your choosing, stop in sooner than later. Stock covers get more popular the closer we are to the holidays, and thus harder to get in time. Just FYI, the Custom Eclectics and our new swatch-book of Lovesac Originals both take 8 to 10 weeks to make and be delivered. That means that if you order today (orders are sent in on Mondays) the estimated delivery dates are between 10/28/11 and 11/11/11.

The same could be said of our Custom Premium, Custom Luxury, and Custom Magnum; though their lead time isn’t quite as long at 4 to 6 weeks.
